Leah Danielle Hammonds
Leah Hammonds, of Royse City, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 4, 2024. She was born on December 6, 1976, in Fresno, California, to Charlie Topping and Cindy Kulig. She was the oldest of two siblings. Leah’s favorite childhood memories were made growing up alongside her brother and cousins. She loved drill team, dance, swimming at her grandparents’ pool, and playing Barbies. She attended Tisinger Elementary School, Wilkinson Middle School, and Poteet High School in Mesquite. She later went on to get her Medical Billing and Coding Degree. While she truly loved her career, she considered raising her daughter, Lexi Topping, the best thing she ever did. Leah and Lexi loved watching movies, going on vacations, attending concerts and various events together, and just being each other’s person. Leah later found Randall Hammonds, the love of her life, and married him in 2020. They enjoyed building a new home together, blending their families into one that included 4 beautiful daughters, surprising each other with gifts, enjoying yummy dinners together, and playing Bingo.
Leah loved family, a good party, country dancing, and everything purple. She was compassionate, goofy and loud, and her laugh was infectious. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all of those who had the privilege of sharing in her laughter and love.
Leah is preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Mildred Stogdill; her grandmother, Helen Marks; her grandparents, Ash and Kathy Topping; her step-father, Tom Kulig; her uncle, Danny Marks; her uncle, Bobby Topping.
