Maria DeLaLuz Alvarez
Maria De La Luz Alvarez, 76, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, after a long battle with illness. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherished by her family and loved ones.
Maria was born on March 15, 1948, in Villaldama, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She later became a proud United States citizen, carrying with her the values of her heritage and the love of family throughout her life. Among her many passions was her love for cooking; an advanced skill she enjoyed sharing with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Orfelinda; her sister, Francisca; her beloved husband, Felipe; and her children, Maria and Marcelino. Maria leaves behind a large and loving family, including her siblings, Nicolas, Yolanda, Elia, Orfelinda, Leticia, Victor, Apolonio, Elodia, and Filiberto. She is also survived by her children, Francisco and Rosa; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In keeping with her final wishes, Maria’s remains will be spread in the Gulf of Mexico, where her husband Felipe’s remains rest.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Town East Village and Trinity Hospice for their compassionate care during Maria’s illness. We also deeply appreciate the outpouring of sympathy, prayers, and comforting words from friends and family. Your kindness and support during this difficult time have meant the world to us.
May God continue to bless all who knew and loved her.
