Stuart Lee Hulsey

Stuart Lee Hulsey of Corsicana, TX passed away on August 12, 2024, after a lengthy battle with heart failure, kidney disease and numerous other health issues.

Stuart was born June 6, 1966, in Longview, TX to George and Eugenia (Genie) Hulsey. He grew up in Mesquite and graduated from West Mesquite High School in 1984. Right out of high school he went to work for UPS where he stayed for almost 40 years.

Stuart was always prepared & jumped at every opportunity to tell very long stories to anyone who had a long time to sit and listen. His stories were always exciting and always left you wondering if they were true or not. Most were probably true as he lived an adventurous life. Everyone loved him

At the end of 2009 Stuart reconnected with his now wife, Jessi (Bunni) and he stepped into the most important and the proudest role of his life; earning a special heir name – Pepaw. He loved and enjoyed every moment spent with his grandkids and was never happier than when he was with them. Years into being Pepaw, he was given another name, “Knuckles”, which he was given by his little special buddy grandson Lane, AKA Sonic.

Stuart went into hospice care at the beginning of 2024 and as time progressed so did his illness; but he fought, and he outlived the time that was given to him by his doctors which amazed his care team, family and friends. He was so grateful and happy to have had so many friends and family make the trip to visit him when he got home on hospice.

Stuart is preceded in death by his Father; George Hulsey, Brother; Steve Hulsey, Grandson; Maxamus Hutchins; Infant son; Forrest Hulsey and his fur baby Lucy.

He leaves  behind his Wife; Jessi Hulsey, who stood by him and cared for him through it all, Mother; Genie Moeller, Sister; Susan Watkins, Brother; Scott Hulsey (Susan), 6 Bonus Sons; Randy, Matt, Justin, Kevin, Zach and Ricky, Bonus Daughter; Alyssa Wood and his Grandchildren; Matthew, Arik, Lydia, Collin, Riley, Levi, Lane, Harmony, Elizabeth, Arya, Keighlynn Hailey, Kayla, Skylar and Dylan, Great Granddaughters; Isabella and Sophia as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

The family wishes to thank all the doctors, medical staff and caregivers for all the care received in the past several years. Special thanks to Visiting Nurses Association, Monica Boyd, whose care and compassion helped us through a very difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Visiting Nurses Association of Kaufman, TX.
