Daniel Anthony Contreras

Daniel “Danny” Anthony Contreras age 59 from Mesquite, Texas went to his heavenly home on July 4, 2024, following a brief hospitalization.

A stranger to no one, Danny found joy and fulfillment in sharing God’s word with others and living a life that reflected the love of Christ. Without hesitation, Danny willingly offered his time and support to others in need, and humbly and eagerly shared his testimony with all. He had a servant’s heart and spent many a day volunteering at Soul Church serving meals and ministering to those in need.

Danny worked as an independent contractor/carpenter and was well known for his many talents in all aspects of the remodeling industry. Among those talents were custom wood flooring, tile work, intricately designed cabinetry installation, and fence work throughout the metroplex. For Danny, his career in construction never seemed like work, but an opportunity to share his many gifts, talents & passions.

Danny is preceded in death by his first wife & mother of his 3 children; Charity Anne Collins Contreras; mother, Helen Contreras Medina; and brother, Vincent Medina.

He is survived by his father, Daniel Contreras; son, Gabriel Contreras; daughter, Contessa Mangum and husband William; grandchildren, Charity Rose, Erica Ann & Tyler Joe; daughter, Taylor Collins; sister, Kim Contreras McDonald and husband Derek; brother, Harold Rogers and wife Laurie; sister, Debbie Medina Scull and husband Sam; sister, Anita Medina Murillo and husband Ricardo; brother, Steve Medina and wife Dusty; second wife Teri Woodham and numerous extended family members as well as friends that became chosen family.

Danny will be deeply missed by all that knew him, but his spirit will continue to shine bright in the hearts of those whom he touched
