Blanche “JoAnn” Dean
JoAnn was born and raised in Vallejo. She graduated from Hogan High School in 1969 and later attended Solano College. She married her High School sweetheart, Roger, in 1972, after he returned from his time in the Navy. JoAnn was proud of her time working a suicide hotline when she was young and working dispatch for the local ambulance service while in college. She worked for a brief time at Lincoln School, where both of her children attended, and volunteered at Wilson Park Little League. Later in life, she switched careers and worked in the insurance business, first as the Director of Marketing at Tyson Fire Investigations, then as Vice President, and later President of the Claims Conference of Northern California, all while volunteering her piano playing at retirement homes in the East Bay. During her own retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Roger, her son Michael (Caroline), her daughter Jennifer (Joshua), and her five grandchildren, Michaela, Eric, Trevor, Brandon, and Jaden.
At her request, no services will be held.
